Let's keep the Coming Out Week theme, shall we, as we enjoy V pre-drag show, jamming out, no doubt, to Lady Gaga on her phone.

Uh oh. Slacking happened, and thus enjoy this throwback from this time last year in the stead of something 2010.
In celebration of National Coming Out Week, here's Emma and I at 2009's Pretentious Party, lookin' the part of lovers.

I realize it's a couple hours late, but I swear this was taken yesterday.
Nothing like coming home from the library at next to midnight and finding 3 roses taped to your door. It's that extra boost that is always welcome. So, mystery rose-giver, thank you.

Also, it is no longer shandy season, I know this. But a girl can like her sub-par booze all year round, right? Right?

Bloggers, please meet Bryce and Emma. Wonderful, wonderful people. Looking far more classy than myself at the moment. So it is, so it is.

Stuck in the library: day 2. This terrible book. Shoot me now.
Also, I promise more creativity in the near future. Promise.

9/365

Today's 365 is brought to you by caffeine-the only thing getting me through this hellish Monday in one piece.
Hanging out in the library for copious amounts of time is quickly becoming my new pastime out of necessity, not choice. This sure as hell better pay off in the long run. Goodbye, social life. Hello, graduate school.

So it's kind of chilly without actual fall happening in the Chicagoland area. Feelin' kind of ripped off.
But reading while wrapped up in a blanket in the crisp air: wondrous.

Also, we'll just pretend that this picture was taken today and not yesterday. It's fiiine.

The quality's not good, the picture itself isn't great, but the people in it, well, that's what matters most.
Coming home for me always allows me to get my head on straight, and it's thanks to people like this, people that I have, in some cases, known through my bad middle school years, my awkward high school years, and as the college years are coming to an end, I see the future looking bright with folks like these by my side.
Thank you, Jo and Brandon. You're both wonderful :)

Greetings from Iowa.
After a series of unfortunate events, I'm stuck in the heart of the heartland. Not my preference, but things could be worse. Plus, even though I can't really afford it, I'm staying at an upscale hotel (in Iowa, I know) that I can't actually afford and sleeping (we'll see) in a king-sized bed. Can't complain there.

Today, my Latin professor called me "Valeria." Latinized version of my own name. But "valere" is simply a farewell in Latin. It means strength, health, boldness. All of which I hope I embody. All of which I strive to be.

I'm lazy and this is all you're getting. I got a haircut today. I look normal and I don't know what to think of it. Normalcy is not really my thing, when it comes down to it. But my girl Jodie Foster (redheads, I love you), once said that
"Normal is not something to aspire to, it's something to get away from."
Thanks, Jodie.

"The more I see the less I know for sure" -John Lennon
Meet my Chucks of choice: The John Lennon edition of 2004. These puppies are old news and well-worn. But they're a couple of old friends, and until the day they literally fall off my feet, they're not going anywhere.

1/365

So I tried this whole 365 blog thing once before, and failed miserably after a mere two weeks (and its aftermath can be seen here:http://vm365.blogspot.com/). The hopes for this one aren't much better, but we'll try. Here we go.

Tea should be taken in solitude.  -C.S. Lewis

It's a Sunday night, my homework goes undone as I sit and drink chamomile tea (my favorite) from the old lady mug (my favorite) wearing my dad's old bike hoodie (my favorite). If only homework were my favorite, this would be a win/win/win/win situation. Oh well, 3/4ths is good enough.
